All ESX modules the ESX-2400 and ESX-4800
are really heavy. To ship these modules anywhere in Europe or worldwide you need strong
carrogated boxes with a lot of packing material.
The ESX 2400 modules of any kind or type are very close to 10,0-Kilograms plus
packing material.
So if you feed a chassis (or cage) with 4 of these units you have a very solid block of
over 50 kilos. Most parcel services dont handle this weight. It exceeds the 30 kilo limit.
However, it is a big risc, to ship more than 2 units in one box. You should not ship
more than one unit in a chassis and if, you should mount one down on the very low slot.
If
you ship ESX 4800 modules, you must take care of the open component side, which ist not
protected in any way. The 4800 modules are nearly as heavy as the 2400 modules, but a lot
more sensitive against shock.
